What is a Bill of Lading?

The Bill of Lading is a document used in the auto transport industry and other forms of cargo shipping. It is a legal document that specifies the vehicle to be transported from location A to location B, the condition of the vehicle at pickup, and the condition of the vehicle at delivery. The Bill of Lading also serves as the contract between the trucker and the vehicle owner, and includes the terms of that agreement.
